GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the direction of the General Manager, the 77 Hospitality Coordinator is responsible for generating revenue through lead generation and conversion into sales within the wedding, corporate and social markets, as well as the retention of existing clients. The Catering Sales Manager will also work in coordination with the Banquet department to meet all the expectations and service needs for client events.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

Sales and Floor

-Sell group, event and catering opportunities, with an emphasis on high revenue potential business
-Develop new sales prospects by contacting individuals, groups and companies in the community
-Conduct sales presentations and event facility tours
-Attend special events and activities to provide sales information and tours
-Upsell package upgrades to existing clients
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date catering sales tracking and reports
-Greet clients
-Assist with set-up of tables, linens, chairs, etc. for full service of banquet events
-Provide excellent food and beverage service for banquet events
-Maintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses
-Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow through and response
-Ensure physical meeting and event space is set up to meet customer expectation and in a timely manner so service staff may prepare for function
-Maintain a clean, safe work environment
-Oversee catered events, and supervise events and team members throughout service
-Resolve staff and customer concerns quickly and efficiently
-Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
-Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes
-Ring drink and food orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests and make change to assist the floor
-Wash and sterilize glasses, stemware, utensils and bar equipment when help is needed
-Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, refusing to serve additional alcoholic beverages, or ordering taxis  or other transportation for intoxicated patrons
-Assist in stocking bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies
-Never touch clean dishes after touching dirty dishes without washing hands first
-Active participation in events, programs, meetings and training
-Schedule varies and may require weekend and holiday hours, days and evenings

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, and sales techniques.
Policies — Knowledge of company polices, federal, state and local laws, government regulations and agency rules that pertain to property managed.
Management of Personnel Resources — Knowledge of principles and procedures for legally identifying the best people for the job, hiring, motivating, developing and directing people as they work.
Management of Financial Resources — Basic knowledge of economic principles and practices for maintaining a realistic budget, understanding financial reports and the ability to use mathematics to solve problems.
Problem Anticipation/ Deductive Reasoning — Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and then apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.  Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems and considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Written Comprehension and Expression — Ability to read, understand and communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.      
Oral Comprehension and Expression —Ability to understand and communicate so others can understand ideas and information.
Computer – Ability to develop and maintain computer records in MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and other software required by TBCC and regulatory agencies.  Ability to utilize food & beverage software programs.

 

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 4 years’ experience in food & beverage and/or event sales and customer service
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK are essential

 

EDUCATION

Associates Degree or equivalent accredited degree or professional certification, Bachelors of Arts or Science is desirable
